This Privacy Policy explains what information RouteFunds collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to the RouteFunds website, marketplace, mobile applications, and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information. Name, email, phone number, company, role, and (for brokers) MC/DOT numbers.
Load & Transaction Data. Shipment details including origin, destination, equipment type, rates, fees, and status timestamps.
Payment Information. Payments are processed by third-party providers, including Stripe. RouteFunds does not store full card or bank account credentials.
Operational Data. Documents and verification data including Bills of Lading (BOL), Proof of Delivery (POD), receiver signatures, timestamps, and GPS location data captured during pickup and delivery events.
Device & Usage Data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies. We may use cookies or similar technologies to improve functionality, analyze usage, and enhance user experience.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and improve the RouteFunds platform
- Facilitate and process payments through third-party providers
- Verify shipment pickup and delivery events
- Detect fraud and enhance platform security
- Resolve disputes between users
- Send transactional communications (e.g., load updates, payment confirmations)
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. Information Sharing
We may share information:
- With transaction counterparties (e.g., brokers, shippers, and carriers involved in the same load) to enable shipment execution and verification
- With service providers, including payment processors (Stripe), infrastructure providers (Supabase), and communications providers (Resend, Lovable)
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
We do not sell personal information.
4. Data Retention
We retain:
- Transactional records (loads, payments, disputes, BOL/POD) as required for accounting, tax, audit, and legal obligations
- Account data while your account remains active
We may retain certain data after account deletion where required by law or to prevent fraud.
5. Your Choices & Rights
You may:
- Update account information in your settings
- Manage email preferences in Notifications
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link provided
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us
Account deletion requests may be subject to legal retention requirements.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS)
- Encryption at rest
- Role-based access controls
- Row-level data security
However, no system is completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining strong account credentials.
7. Children
RouteFunds is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
